Darras Helen Jamieson

Darras Helen Jamieson, 86, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 15, 2018. Darras was born on October 26, 1931, in Bluffton, South Carolina to Joseph and Stella Crosby.

Darras married Richard Skinner on September 14, 1951 in Virginia while Richard was enlisted in the Navy. They later moved to Richard’s hometown of Ogden, UT, where their two children Barry and Patricia were born. Richard and Darras divorced in 1973.   She met David “Buddy” Jamieson and they were married on September 6, 1977.

Darras enjoyed gardening and crossword puzzles and had a love of cooking and teaching her grandkids how to cook and bake. She loved spending time with her family.

Darras is survived by her son, Barry Skinner; her daughter, Patricia (Chris) Allen; stepchildren, Diana (Jack) Wilson, Kathy Newton, David (Donna) Jamieson, Jr., Karla Jamieson, and Shelly Jamieson. She leaves behind 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Buddy; her parents, and brothers, Alex and Rudolf Crosby.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Gardens Assisted Living Center for the care of our Mom and Grandma. A very special thanks to Sara, Jessica, Jonie, JJ, Carol, Alisha, Kim, and Mandy. Also to her very special homecare nurse, Lisa.

Darras’ spirited personality, quick wit, and zucchini bread will be greatly missed by those who loved her.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, January 22, 2018 at 11a.m. at the Clearfield City Cemetery. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
