Darrel A. Robbins
OGDEN – Darrel Alvin Robbins, 75, died Monday, April 28, 2008 at McKay-Dee Hospital.
He was born June 5, 1932 in Ogden, a son of Alvin and A. Eanone Arbon Robbins.
On February 15, 1952, Darrel married Joan Marie VanAlfen in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Joan preceded him in death on August 8, 2006.
He grew up in Ogden graduating from Ogden High School in 1950. He ran track and sang in the college choir.
Darrel was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in Scouting for over 25 years and was the recipient of the Silver Beaver Award. He was very active in all the young men’s activities and sporting programs. He also served as a counselor in the Bishopric. He acted in church plays for years and participated in the All Faces West pageant.
He worked for Cream ‘O Weber for 50 years.
Darrel loved to travel and he considered himself a professional comedian as he loved to make people laugh.
Surviving are two sons and one daughter, Kerry A. (Becky) Robbins, Liberty; Brad Robbins, Layton; Janae (Mark) Dyson, Harrisville; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one brother and one sister.
Preceding Darrel in death were his parents, wife, grandchild Kelly Robbins and one sister.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Aultorest Memorial Park.
