Darrell Eugene Dickinson

June 4, 1951 ~ October 28, 2016

On Friday, October 28, 2016, Darrell Eugene Dickinson was called by his Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. He passed peacefully at his home after an extended illness.

Darrell was born June 4, 1951 in Des Moines, Iowa. He lived in Ogden and Roy, attending schools in both places. He graduated from Roy High School, and attended the University of Utah.

Darrell worked at IRS and retired after 25 years.

On December 8, 1972, Darrell married Catherine Eilander. He was a loving and caring husband to his wife, Cathy. He was an amazing father and best friend to his daughter, Nicole, who was the joy of his life.

Darrell had a huge heart and enjoyed helping those in need. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

His best buddy was his granddaughter, Kaycee. They enjoyed many hours together laughing, playing and discovering all the small wonders of this world.

Darrell is survived by his wife, Cathy; daughter, Nicole (Cody) King, granddaughter Kaycee King; his parents, Richard and Shirley Dickinson, Roy; brothers, Dennis (Jo) Dickinson, David Dickinson; sister, Janine (Dave) Miller; and many nieces, nephews , grand-nieces and grand-nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Morris.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at the Alpine Church, 5050 South 1275 West, Riverdale, Utah, with Pastor Larry from Wasatch Cowboy Church, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be sent to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital. We would like to give special thanks to Dr. Stephen Foote, Trina, P.A. Stakebake, as well as Integrity Home Health, especially Bridie, Toni, Roger, Theresa and Becky from Primrose Home Care, for the excellent care they provided Darrell during his time of need.
