SUNSET a€" Darrell Lewis Harper, 76, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away at his home on Friday, November 26, 2010. He was born on August 7, 1934 to Thomas Roland and Louise Coombs Harper in Tremonton, Utah, and raised in Brigham City and East Garland. He graduated from Bear River High School and retired from Fife Rock Products after 37+ years.

He married Sarabelle John and later divorced. Darrell married Maude Alice Adams on January 25, 1964. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple, and they have lived in Sunset for the last 46 years. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he was a High Priest. He had a big heart and was always willing to serve. He enjoyed doing weekly sealings at the Ogden Temple with a group of friends.

Darrell loved hunting, horses, fishing, camping, farming, construction, swimming, but family was always his number one source of happiness.

Darrell is survived by Maude, his loving wife of 46 years; sons, Dee (Kim), Riverdale; Dan (Christa), Bountiful; daughters, Julie (Steven) Sorotsky, CA; Lisa (Jerry) Walkup, TX; Tamera (Mark) Livesey, Clearfield; Debra (Richard) Allen, Harrisville; 16 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Earl Harper and Carl Harper; and 2 sisters JoAnne Gardner and Ione Allen.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Don and Blaine, and his daughter Janet.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Sunset 5th LDS Chapel, 2431 North 250 West. Friends and family may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd, and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd.
