Darrell A. “Sam” Jackson
Darrell “Sam” Jackson at age 90 passed away at home on September 26, 2012. He was born in Ogden on August 14, 1922 to Earl and Bessie Jackson.
He married Justine Lundgren on October 20, 1948 in Elko, Nevada sharing 64 years together. He proudly served his country during WWII from 1942 to 1945. He was a “Purple Heart” recipient serving in Central Europe including “Battle of the Bulge”.
After the war, he finished his education at Weber College. He retired from W R White C. as an accountant. He enjoyed bowling and fishing earlier in life and later years took much delight in being a grandpa. He took pride in maintaining a well-kept yard and his creative sculpturing crafted on the shrubs.
Darrell will be forever remembered by his wife, Justine; children, Ron Jackson and Connie (Jerry) Macfarlane of Ogden; 6 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, October 5, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
