Darrell LaVelle Stewart

Aug. 11, 1956 - Nov. 17, 2017

Darrell LaVelle Stewart, 61, passed away peacefully at his home on November 17, 2017.

The youngest son of Edson LaVelle and Jennie Marie Richelieu Stewart, Darrell was born Aug. 11, 1956 in Hayward, CA. Raised and schooled in California and Utah, Darrell finished his schooling at Clearfield High School Class of 1975 prior to enlisting in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. His last duty assignment was on the USS Duluth where he served as a Fireman Recruit prior to his honorable discharge in 1977.

A skilled laborer, Darrell worked in many fields from manufacturing and oil production to work as a computer networking specialist. Darrell took a disability retirement in 2007.

In 1984 Darrell met his the love of his life, Danette L. O’Dell and they were married November 29, 1985. They raised their two very wonderful children, Brianna and Darrell, and enjoyed camping, fishing, and boating at Flaming Gorge - a yearly pastime.

Darrell also loved to hunt and took a lot of pride in his lawn - it was pristine.

He will be remembered as a hard worker, for his ingenuity, and his smart mouth sense of humor - he could make anything work and make anybody laugh. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him best.

Darrell is survived by his wife, Danette L. Stewart, Ogden; daughter, Brianna (Dale) Barton, Clinton and their four children; son, Darrell E. Stewart, North Carolina; mother, Jennie Stewart, Las Vegas, NV; siblings, Edson Stewart, UT; Jalene Stewart, NV; Sharlene Stewart, CA; and half-brother, Eldon Davis, ID. He was preceded in death by his father, Edson, and half-brother, Jerry Davis.
