Darrell Wilkinson, our husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother passed away on September 25, 2011 from complications related to Acute Leukemia.
He was born June 10, 1930 to Paul Wilkinson and Lelia Harris Wilkinson (Britten) in Preston, Idaho. He was raised in Smithfield and attended North Cache High School. After graduating, he spent two years serving in the Army during the Korean War. Upon returning from the service he met and married June Nuffer in Preston, Idaho. Their marriage was later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They celebrated their 57th anniversary on September 10th of this year.
Darrell loved the outdoors and spent much time hunting, fishing and camping with friends and family. He had a passion for sports, and as a young man enjoyed playing basketball, baseball, and softball. In his later life he became a true Jazz fan. Darrell spent 30 years working for Mountain Bell and U S West in Utah and Denver, Colorado later retiring in 1985. He and two colleagues then started Phon-Com, a communications business, which they built into a successful company and then sold. His remaining years were spent working with his son Brad in Wilk-N-Son Construction Inc..
He loved to work and was never happier than when completing a project or building a home for himself or his children. He was a perfectionist and prided himself in doing beautiful finish carpentry.
