Darvel Holliday (Doc-Tom)
Darvel Holliday, 78, died Saturday, October 18, 2014 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on January 1, 1936 in Preston, Idaho a son of Wallace C. and Eudora Jensen Holliday.
He married Elke Rohrich on June 26, 1969 in Basel, Switzerland.
Darvel was in the U.S. Air Force for 24 years and had assignments in France, Germany, Thailand, Guam, England, Texas, California and Washington. He received several awards. Following retirement he worked for Multi Concrete Enterprises and later became a part owner of Intermountain Industrial Park.
He was talented and known as a master of all trades.
He enjoyed the outdoors, snowmobiling, camping, hunting, boating and loved spending time at the family homestead in Preston, Idaho.
Surviving are his wife Elke, son Ron (Deni), Texas; daughter Saundra Holliday, Vermont; three grandchildren, Ashley, Cassidy, Thomas, brother Eldean, sister Velora Farnes and the family dog Ms. Bailey.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Kaysville 10 th Ward, 1039 E. Crestwood Road. A viewing will be held Wednesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main and Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. at the Preston, Idaho Cemetery where military honors will be accorded.
