Darwin N. Lloyd
OGDEN – Darwin N. Lloyd, 80, returned home to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, June 29, 2008.
Darwin was born October 5, 1927 in Salt Lake City, a son of Vivian and Sarah Nielsen Lloyd. After graduating from South High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
In 1950, Darwin married the love of his life, Dorene Pay, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
He moved his family to Ogden in 1958 where his love of cars and people led him to open Darwin’s Auto Service. He excelled in VW service. He was also a school bus driver for 18 years.
Darwin was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved the youth and had an impact on the lives of many via his bus driving and church service as a Teacher, Scout Master, Bishop and High Counselor. He and his wife served in the Florida Ft. Lauderdale Mission.
Surviving are his wife, Dorene, of Ogden; his children, Mike (Sharon) Lloyd, Denver, CO; Judy (Bill) Frew, West Point; Beth (Mark) Stettler, Layton; Dave (Gay) Lloyd, Layton; Nancy (Rick) Wallis, Idaho Falls, ID; Scott (Darla) Lloyd, Ogden; 23 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one brother, Bob (Carolyn) Lloyd, Huntington Beach, CA.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 2 at 10:30 a.m. at the Burch Creek 4th Ward Chapel, 4955 Adams Avenue.
Friends may call at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday at the Ward Chapel 9:30 to 10:15 a.m.
Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, UT.
