Darwin Peter Madsen "Pete"

Darwin Peter Madsen, 86, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2012 at his home in Bountiful, Utah.

He was born August 30, 1926 in Blackfoot, Idaho the son of Peter R. and Martha C. Petersen Madsen. Married Helen Merkley, June 17, 1950.

Pete served in the US Navy during WW II. He was a pipefitter/welder in the construction business and was a member of local 648 of the United Association of Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry, he was also a member of the American Legion Post 23; Elks BPOE Lodge 1416.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, gardening, auto repair, flying, sports, woodwork and carpentry. He also enjoyed training gun dogs and going to competitions. His greatest joy was watching the activities of his great-grandchildren.

Pete is survived by his wife Helen; son David (Vicki) Madsen; daughters, Kathy (David) Ivanoff and Linda Grimsrud; nine grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; brother Ray Madsen and sister Louise Jorgensen. Preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and four sisters.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. In accordance with his wishes cremation will take place under the direction of Lindquist Mortuary.
