Daryl Reid Conger
Beloved husband, father and grandfather, Daryl Reid Conger, passed away Monday, January 10, 2011, surrounded by his loving wife and family.
Daryl was born in Tremonton, Utah, the son of Anna Crozier and Sherman Conger.
He served with the U.S. Army for two years in the Korean War and four years in the Reserves.
Daryl accomplished his dream for 22 years of being a law officer and becoming Chief of Police, and serving as a firefighter. He enjoyed working in animal control. He worked as an airplane mechanic and supervisor at Hill Air Force Base, then worked as a security officer at Iomega and I.R.S.
Daryl enjoyed horses, hunting, fishing, boating, camping and shooting guns. He especially enjoyed retirement and traveling with his wife and six outlaws.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnne, his children, Blake (Linda), Steve (Leann), Ron (Traci) Conger, Dusti (Shane) Turner, Brian (Lori), Jeff (Monique), Caralee Hartley, Analynn (Josh) Jenkins, 41 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and his sisters Flo Crossley, Clara (Robbie) Roberts, and Gay Carling.
He was welcomed home by his parents, a son Mark Conger, a granddaughter Melissa Conger brothers Harry, Jay, Ray Conger, sister Gertrude Secrist, and father-in-law Wallace Nunley.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 17, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Family will meet friends at the mortuary on Monday from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m.
Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, South Ogden, where Military Honors will be accorded.
