David Paul Baird, 55, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2014. He was born on October 6, 1959 in Alexandria, Virginia, to Carl James and Kathryn Hone Baird. David was proud of his Baird Scottish pioneer heritage and shared his history and knowledge of cultures with a sense of humor and compassion as a master storyteller.
He married Rhonda Kay Love on April 27, 1991 in Canyonlands in Southern Utah.
David was a talented musician who loved playing rock and roll and loved music and “His Band Family” with passion. “He loved everyone of you.”
He loved wildlife and animals of all kinds. He also enjoyed hiking, camping, four-wheeling, Nascar, and all forms of racing. He was raised in the outdoors by his forest ranger father, and his favorite places were Moab and Island Park. He was always at home in the outdoors.
David was a gentle soul. He was thoughtful and caring and was one of the kindest people you would ever meet. He made everyone he met feel special and important. He will be affectionately remembered as “the cat whisperer” and he loved his collie, Goliath.
