David Boam

February 11, 1961 — April 17, 2019

David Alan Boam, 58, passed away suddenly from a heart condition in his home April 17, 2019. He was born February 11, 1961 in Tucson, Arizona to George Jr Boam and Della Agnes Wall Boam.

He attended school at Herold Steele Elementary, Magee Jr High in Tucson and for one year in Tai Chung, Taiwan. He attended two years at Sahuaro High School in Tucson where he played football and was on the wrestling team. He completed his last two years of high school at Layton High School where he also played football and wrestled.

David served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Michigan Lansing Mission. He then went on to graduate with an Associate’s degree at Ricks College and a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Weber State University. David was a General Contractor, qualified water systems operator and water master.

As a youth David was an Eagle Scout. He fulfilled his oath as an adult to give back to scouting. He was honored with the District Award of Merit for his efforts of quality service. David served for many years in scouting in all capacities. He was devoted to his beliefs and was a perpetual minister to neighbors, friends and family.

David was greatly loved by his nieces and nephews. They knew he cared about them and will miss him greatly.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his Nephew Matthew Gary Boam.

He is survived by his five brothers. Gary Boam (Tammy) Syracuse UT, Fredrick Boam (Marsha) Layton UT, Rodney Boam (MarLyn) Hyrum UT Ryan Boam (Colleen) Ogden UT, and Chris Boam Layton.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday April 23, 2019 at the Canyon Rim Chapel 2435 E. Canyon Rim Rd Layton, UT 84040 (Evergreen) at 11:00 am. Friends may visit with family Monday April 22, 2019 at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road, Layton, Utah from 6:00 pm to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday, April 23, 2019 from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.

Interment will be held at the Lindquist Memorial Park at Layton.
