David L. Butt
NORTH OGDEN – David LaMar Butt, 70, died Monday, February 1, 2010.
He was born June 12, 1939, in Murray, Utah, to Albert and Leona Cooley Butt. He grew up in Copperton, Utah, and graduated from Bingham High School.
Dave met his eternal sweetheart, Elaine, a nursing student at LDS Hospital, while recovering from a serious accident. They were married on July 2, 1965, in the Logan LDS Temple.
He attended B.Y.U. receiving an art and business degree, and remained a devoted B.Y.U. fan throughout his life. He also fulfilled a lifelong dream by designing homes in his later years.
Dave was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved the gospel and served faithfully. He especially enjoyed his two missions: as a young Elder in the Great Lakes area, and with his wife in the Atlanta, Georgia Temple. He also helped many through the years in various callings.
Dave is survived by his wife, Elaine; six children, Ron (LeeAnn) Bursett, Layton, UT; Sherilynn (Duane) Edgington, Heber City, UT; Brent (Christa) Morgan, South Jordan, UT; Steve (Gennifer) Bursett, Kamas, UT; Julie (Mike) Park, Longmont, CO; Colleen (Tom) Marston, Sandy, UT; 17 grandchildren.
Also surviving are three brothers, Ray (Carol) Bursett, Washington, UT; Vivian (Doris) Butt, Paradise, UT; and Clifford Bursett, Las Vegas, NV.
He was preceded in death by one son, Paul, two sisters, two brothers and his parents.
His grandchildren and neighborhood kids always enjoyed his fun-loving nature and his infamous Donald Duck voice. Dave was well loved by all who knew him and will be sorely missed.
