David Connell Christensen

David Connell Christensen, 58, passed away Saturday, November 15, 2008, of complications due to diabetes.

He was born two months premature on September 6, 1950 in Salmon, ID, the son of Joseph Cleon and Dorothy Longhurst Christensen.

He graduated from Davis High School and subsequently attended Weber State College for two years. David valiantly faced the challenges associated with his disabilities. He had years of therapy and also spent a year in Philadelphia, PA, at the Institute for Development of Human Potential.

He worked for 24 years at the Bishop''s Storehouse in Kaysville and gave his heart and soul to his work. He also volunteered at Bowman''s in Kaysville and enjoyed every task given him.

He was a sports aficionado and could quote facts and figures from any team sport. He was also an enthusiast of trivia and crossword puzzles. He had a delightful sense of humor and enjoyed telling jokes.

He is survived by his mother; two brothers, Joseph Rodney (Patti) Christensen, Lund, NV; Trevor (Sharalyn) Christensen, West Point; two sisters, Starli (Dale) Taft, Fruit Heights; Chadley McFarland, Kaysville; and 16 nieces and nephews and their children.

He is preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 21, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the LDS Stake Center, 170 N. Mountain Road, Fruit Heights. Friends and family may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lindquist''s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main and Friday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the church.

Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
