David De La Cruz
It’s with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of David De La Cruz on February 1st, 2021 due to complications of COVID-19.
Born February 6, 1946 to Guadalupe De La Cruz and Josefina Villalobos, today would have been his 75th birthday.
He was preceded in death by his wife Eva Alcocer who passed on April 1st of 2019.
He is survived by three brothers, Antonio, Guadalupe and Salvador, three sisters, Maria, Teresa and Elena, although considered a brother to more. He is also survived by two sons, Adam and David although considered a father to more, five grandkids Biancha MonaLisa, Cynthia De La Cruz, Jazmyn Ramos, Carina De La Cruz, Alejandro De La Cruz and David De La Cruz although considered a grandfather to more, five great-grandkids Philip, Ava, Annie, Kinsley and Sebastian.
Born in Calvillo, Aguascalientes he came to the United States in the early 1960’s to chase the American dream and settled in San Marcos thanks to the help of his Uncle Jose. Met Eva and they married on January 8, 1966.
He worked at the egg processing warehouse next to the chicken ranch for many years and eventually retired from the Pennysaver. Moved in the mid 2000’s to Syracuse, Utah leaving behind many friends but making even more since he enjoyed meeting people and talking since he knew how to hold a very, very long conversation.
He enjoyed music, coin collecting and baseball. Says he was Padres fan but probably an undercover Dodgers fan. He was a true gentleman with the kindness of hearts.
Thanks to Ninfa Ramirez-Conroy, Vianey Farfan and Allison, Irma Garnica and her family, my cousin Graciela Santiago and her family for watching over him during his time in Utah, especially the last two years.
Happy birthday Mom and Dad born on the same day, same year. You will forever be missed dad.
Love, Your son.
