David Ray Evans

David Ray Evans, 90, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2017 at his home.

He was born December 4, 1926 in Leamington, Utah to David L. and Rachel Nelda Wiley Evans.

David met Ada Allred in 5th grade at Delta Elementary School. On October 16, 1946, David married Ada Allred in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They lived in Roy for 58 years and were active members of the Roy 1st Ward.

He proudly served in the U.S. Navy, in the Pacific during World War II. After he and Ada were married he was called to serve in the Korean War.

David loved camping, fishing and hunting in the Uinta Mountains. He enjoyed woodworking and his time working with the Scouts, which he was very proud of.

He is survived by his wife, Ada; their children, Alan, Karen (Lynn) Clarke, Brent (Lorna), Roger (Cindi); 17 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; and three siblings, Jean Linford, Geraldine Sorensen and James Evans. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister, and one granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February15, 2017 at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. The family will meet with friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
