David LeRoy Griffith
August 6, 1942 ~ July 15, 2018
David LeRoy Griffith stepped across the veil July 15, 2018 after a long eleven-month battle with Leukemia. He was born August 6, 1942 in Teton, Idaho, a beautiful valley the Idaho side of the Tetons. He spent the first 19 years of his life with his Dad working together on the farm; planting and nurturing crops, fishing in the Spring and hunting in the Fall. He served a mission to the New Zealand South Mission September 1961-September 1963.
He married the love of his life Linda Lindquist in the Logan Temple July 9, 1965. They spent 53 wonderful years together and raised 8 wonderful children. David spent 42 years in the field of Speech Pathology and Audiology, serving many individuals in industry, medical centers, and care center settings. His skill as a therapist and rehabilitation specialist blessed the lives of many. His sense of humor and caring nature always put other people at ease. He always related with others on their level, sharing a joke or a story and finding out about their life. He will be missed by his friends, family, and those he served in his clinical practice. The memories and loving presence he gave to his family, clients and friends will hold an unwavering place in our hearts.
David loved to do family history and submitted over ten thousand names to the temple. He loved gardening and shared his produce with neighbors and friends. His positive attitude and charismatic personality carried himself and others through many trials of mortality.
He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as a Young Men’s President, a ward missionary leader several times, high councilor, a Bishop, and a family history expert. He loved the gospel and he loved his Savior and strived to emulate his life in that way.
David is survived by his wife of 53 years Linda and eight wonderful children: Mark Griffith (Stacey) Issaquah, Washington; Robyn (Steven Call) Peoria, Arizona; Jon Griffith (Anne) Tooele, Utah; Jeni (Joe Zanotelli) San Francisco, California; Sara (Aaron Chandler) Round Rock, Texas; Joshua Griffith (Sarah) Gilbert, Arizona; Nathan Griffith Ogden, Utah; Krista (Austin Westenhofer) Mooresville, North Carolina; three siblings, Terry Griffith, Doug Griffith, and Marcia Christensen; 28 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren
