David Andrew Jackson Dec. 26, 1913 a" Aug. 24, 2009
BOUNTIFUL a" David Andrew Jackson, our beloved brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend passed away quietly on Monday, August 24, 2009 at the age of 95.
He was born on December 26, 1913 to Elmer L. Jackson and Sarah Jane Bigger Scott, in Randolph, Utah. He was the oldest of eight children. Much of his life he lived with his family in College Ward and Logan, Utah. He married Evelyn Mary Gilgen on July 17, 1939, in Twin Falls, Idaho. They raised three daughters, Saundra Hardman (Guy), Sheila Showell (Raymond) and Arlene Gold. They presently have 11 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, eight step-great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
David was a committed, devoted and loyal husband, father and grandfather. He had a great sense of humor and had many friends and relatives that truly enjoyed their association with him. He had a tremendous love for his family and loved their holidays, reunions and celebrations. Some of his fondest memories were the years he spent as a young man working on the family ranch in Randolph. He loved sharing stories about his ranching activities. Later he moved his family to Bountiful and drove truck for WS Hatch Co. and Jack B. Kelly Co. He was a member of the million mile safe driving club and received many awards and honors as a driver.
David was an Elder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and a member of the Bountiful 16th Ward.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two grandsons Greg and Eric, a sister Ileen, two brothers Glen and Carvel. A heartfelt thanks to the nursing and support staff at Vista Hospice. Dad was extremely appreciative of your care and concern for him.
Funeral services will be held 1 pm Saturday, August 29, 2009 at Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. where friends may call Friday from 6:30-8:30 pm and Sat. 11:30- 12:45 am prior to services. Interment Lakeview Memorial Estates, Bountiful. Condolences may be shared at www.lindquistmortuary.com
