David (Buddy) Jamieson Sr.
1928 – 2016
David (Buddy) Charles Jamieson Sr., 88 passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the home of his daughter. He was born July 15, 1928 on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation in Browning, Montana to Donald and Francese Jamieson. He attended Davis High School after which he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. David was a WWII veteran.
Returning home after his honorable discharge he met and married Lola Mae Vohs and started his family. Buddy and Lola ran the Twin Pines Tavern in Kaysville for more than twenty years, at which time he and Lola divorced. After closing the Twin Pines Tavern, he worked and retired from YESCO in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Buddy met and married Darras Skinner on September 6, 1977. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post Layton Post 87. He liked to go bowling, fishing, hunting, boating and especially telling stories to his grandchildren.
Buddy is survived by his wife Darras, his five children; Diana (Jack) Wilson, Roy, UT, Kathy Newton, Moreno Valley, CA, David (Donna) Jamieson Jr., Wake Forest, NC, Karla Dawn Jamieson, Ogden, UT., and Shelly Jamieson, Moreno Valley, CA. He is also survived by two step children; Patricia (Chris) Allen, Layton, UT. And Barry Skinner, Ogden, UT. He leaves behind his 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, two nephews and one niece. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother William (Bill) Jamieson and son-in-law Larry Bloom.
The family would like to thank the medical personnel at Fairfield Village and Encompass Hospice for their loving care of their husband, dad and grandpa.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd. Friends may visit with family from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral service.
Interment, Clearfield City Cemetery
