David Michael Jones

MT. GREEN a�" David Michael Jones, 58, passed away Friday, December 13, 2013.

He was born June 9, 1955 in Ogden, Utah the son of David Rollie and Shirley Louise Anderson Jones.

Dave married his high school sweetheart and best friend Vicki Lea Crase on January 25, 1975 in Ogden, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple.

He owned and operated Dave Jones Masonry and was known as "Deacon Jones." Dave had served as a volunteer firefighter for Mt. Green and also on the masonry board at the OATC.

Dave was an active member of the LDS Church and served faithfully and lovingly in many callings.

He enjoyed golfing, riding his Harley, fishing, building his "Lake House," Lake Powell and having dinner with the dinner group for the last 26 years. Dave was a handy man, great mechanic, played a mean hand of cards and enjoyed grilling and eating a good steak.

Dave lived his life for his family and loved spending time with them. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife Vicki, Mt. Green; sons, David (Katie), Layton; Derek (Molly), Layton; daughters, Becky (Jamie) Spens, Enterprise; Bridget (Shawn) Tesch, Mt. Green; Brooke (Nick) Chournos, Morgan; 15 grandchildren, Parker, Khloe, Kaycee, Brock, Coy, Cambry, Beau, Cade, Tyson, Felicitee, Taitley, Gage, Jace, Reese, Lizzie, sisters, Kathy Thorstensen, Twin sister Debbie (Craig) Sorensen, Shirley (Jeff Anthon) Kirshaw and in-laws, Kenneth and Joyce Crase.

Preceded in death by his parents.

We are all honored to have had such a great man in our lives, although it was a short time. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. The world lost a gentle giant. We Love You and will see you again.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Highlands Ward Chapel, 5378 W. Old Highway Road, Mt. Green. Friends may visit family Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Mt. Green Cemetery.
