David King Larsen
January 3, 1942 - January 25, 2018
David King Larsen, 76, passed away Thursday evening, January 25, 2018 at the home of his daughter in Gerrardstown, West Virginia following a lengthy battle with pulmonary fibrosis.
He attended school in Salt Lake City, and graduated from East High School in 1960. He went on to receive his Bachelor's degree in Music from the University of Utah with the class of 1965.
Dave married Susan Mallory at the Hotel Utah on April 4, 1968. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden, Utah Temple on April 7, 1973.
He worked for over 30 years as a computer programmer with the DOD, first at Hill Air Force Base and later at DDO (Utah). He retired in 1998 to care for his wife who was ill until the time of her passing in July, 1999.
Dave is survived by his children Paul Byron (Anna) Larsen, Layton; Mary Rose Larsen, Winchester, Virginia; Sarah Beth Larsen, Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Rachel Ann (Melvin) Hemerick, Gerrardstown, West Virginia; 15 grandchildren; sister-in-law Charlotte (Budd) Larsen, Salt Lake City. He was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Mallory; son John Gordon Larsen; parents Joseph Gilbert and Ada May Clark Larsen; brothers Joseph Gayle Larsen and his wife Deonna, Arlen Budd Larsen, and Nathan Reed Larsen and his wife Norma.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 5, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Layton Utah North Stake Center, 1954 E. Antelope Dr., Layton, UT. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening, from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 at the church.
Interment will be in the Ben Lomond Cemetery in North Ogden.
Memorial contributions may be made to the LDS Humanitarian Aid Fund.
