Emblem

David Laurel Hill, 75, passed away Sunday January 12, 2025, at his home in Kaysville, Utah. He was born June 8th, 1949, in Ogden Utah, the son of Laurel Isaac and Nathel Bullock Hill. Dave grew up in Ogden Utah and attended Weber County schools.

At the age of 18, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and went on to serve in the Vietnam War where he quickly climbed the ranks and became a Corporal. Dave took great pride in being a Marine, valuing the loyalty and the core values it instilled in him.

Dave always demonstrated a strong work ethic and his dedication to the job was evident in his reliability and quality of work. Towards the end of his career, Dave was a talented cabinet designer and general manager before retiring at the age of 62.

Dave truly enjoyed spending his time outdoors, whether camping, fishing, hunting, golfing, or tending to the garden and working in the yard, you almost always found him outside.

In recent years you wouldn’t find Dave without his best pal, Buddy, his dog, by his side.

Most of all, Dave will be remembered for loving his family. He was a giving man and was always willing to support those in need. He loved telling jokes, speaking in a funny voice, making silly noises, singing along to songs or making up his own all to entertain his loved ones.

Dave is survived by his wife, Sukie, his children, Meredith (Tim) Wessman, Jeremy Hill, Emilee (Eddie) Vockler, Brooke Russell, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, brothers Scott Hill, Bruce (Sherri) Hill, Guy (Barbie) Hill, and sister Paula (David) Dickerson.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Michelle Beery, his sons Joshua Hill and Randy Wells, his brother Kevin, and his parents.

Funeral services will be held Friday January 17, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 N. Main Street, Kaysville, Utah. Family and friends may visit Friday from 12:00 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary prior to the service.

 Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.

Dave and Sukie want to express a special thanks to the VA Hospital doctors and nurses, and Applegate Hospice team for their dedicated care and compassion. To family and friends who visited Dave often and helped care for his needs and brightened his spirits until the very end.
