David John Mattson

David John Mattson, 70, passed away in the early hours of Thursday, February 18, 2021. He was born on September 23, 1950 in Ogden, Utah, the son Sherman Ralph Mattson Jr. and Belva Laura Heslop Mattson. He served in the Navy in Japan during the Vietnam War.

He married Alona Susan Rackham on September 23, 1985, in Ogden, Utah.

David worked as an IT Specialist for the Department of Defense.

David is survived by his wife, Alona; his sons, David and Sherman Mattson and his daughters, Wyndy and Barbra and his son, Chad Hillan and his daughter, Brenda Luna; one sibling, Belva Jean Toutai.

He was preceded in death by his father, Sherman R. Mattson Jr, his mother, Belva Heslop Mattson; his siblings, Michael Mattson, Donny Mattson, Sharon Lillage and LauraLee Drake.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Evergreen Memorial Park.
