David Arthur Nelson, 77, passed away Monday, June 11, 2018 at his home.

He was born August 17, 1940 in Vernal, Utah to Chester Burnett and Jana Loyd Nelson. Chester and Jana divorced and Chester married Pearl Watkins, who was also “Mom”.

On December 24, 1959, David married Anne Wood in Roy, Utah.

He worked as a business partner, with his dad, for Chet Nelson and Sons Painting Contractors. His favorite things were fishing, hunting, spending time with family, flying radio controlled airplanes and woodworking.

David is survived by his wife; one son, Mike (Lisa), two daughters, Cherie (Kent) Baxter and Julie Hayden; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, four brothers, Dean, Ron, Steve, Dennis; and four sisters, Carol, Linda, Marilyn and Carolyn. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chet, Jan and Pearl, two brothers, Lloyd and Dale, and daughter-in-law, Julie.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 15, 2018 at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. The family will meet with friends on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
