David Dean Pratt

David Dean Pratt 1956 ~ 2008 David Dean Pratt, loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend to many, was called to the banquet table in Heaven on Saturday, March 29, 2008. Dave loved his family, church, friends, hometown Council Bluffs, Iowa and especially baseball. As a season ticket holder, he was “Net Man” at Salt Lake Bees games, using a fishing net to catch foul balls and giving them to children at the game. He served his country in the United States Army from 1974 – 1977 and continued his service as a civilian at Hill AFB for more than 20 years. Dave was an active member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Roy, Utah. He faithfully served God in a variety of different ways, with a special focus on the children of the church. Also active in Via de Cristo and Lutheran Social Services, Dave leaves behind a large extended church family who will dearly miss him. Dave was preceded in death by his father, Howard, and brothers, Darwin and James. He is survived by his mother, Venita, loving wife, Janet, sons, Jim (Beth) and Aaron, brothers, Leonard and Daniel, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 3, 2008 at 9 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 8 to 8:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 10 a.m. at Timothy Lutheran Church in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Friends and family may call at the church Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, one hour prior to the services. Interment, Crescent City Cemetery, Iowa where Military Honors will be accorded. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dave Pratt Scholarship foundation at any Bank of Utah.
