Our loving husband, father, son, brother and friend, DJ Rogers, peacefully returned to our Heavenly Father on Sunday, November 20, 2011, from injuries sustained in a tragic automobile accident in Wyoming on November 5th.
DJ was born July 18, 1981, the second of three sons of David and Wendy Rogers. He was raised and spent his entire life in Hooper, where he was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He married the love of his life, Brittany Robinson, on December 6, 2002. They were blessed with three beautiful children: Montana (7), Milan (5), and Hank (1).
DJ''s love of the outdoors was matched by no one and he was truly at peace in the mountains. His favorite present was his lifetime fishing and hunting license which he received from his father at the age of 12. He and his wife were active members of Sportsmen for Fish and Wildlife, where he enjoyed assisting disabled hunters. Other than hunting and fishing, his hobbies included woodworking, taxidermy, camping and spending time with his children... listening to Montana sing, taking Milan to work and cuddling with Hank.
DJ lived by the principles of the Eagle Scout award he received as a youth. His work ethic was unmatched. He was the first one there to help anyone in any kind of need, no questions asked. DJ had a huge heart and a great sense of humor.
DJ graduated from Fremont High School in 1999 and made a living as a pipe fitter, plumber and landscaping contractor.
He is survived by his wife Brittany, children Montana, Milan and Hank, parents David and Wendy, brothers Bric (Heidi) and Jeff Rogers, grandparents David Jae and Lois Rogers and LaRae Tolman and many other loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 26th at 11 a.m. at the Hooper Stake Center, 5375 South 5900 West.
The family will meet with friends on Friday from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Hooper Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made at any America First Credit Union to a Rogers Family trust fund established to assist with medical and other expenses. The Rogers family would like to express their special thanks and appreciation to the members of the Shannondoah Ward and many friends and family for their loving support during this difficult time.
