David Salvatore Salazar
OGDEN a" David Salvatore Salazar, 72, passed away Monday, June 11, 2007, at home from cancer.
He was born November 2, 1934 in Monte Vista, Colorado, to Joe D. and Adelina Gutierrez Salazar. His family moved to Utah when David was a young boy and he attended schools in Davis County and Ogden City.
David never married, but he helped care for his beloved mother, father and brother, Toney, until they passed away.
He worked in many construction and laborer jobs throughout his life.
He liked to fish, hunt and loved the outdoors - especially the mountains. He loved animals, especially his cat Tavy.
David was a likable person and had many caring and loyal friends to the end, especially George Garcia, George and Ernie Noriega, Ernie and Louie Gomez, Bill and Beatrice.
He is survived by two sisters, Floripa Diarte and Angelina Salazar (both of Ogden) and two brothers, Bernie (Ogden) and Pete (Roseville, CA), and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, four brothers - Antonio, Rudy, Toney, and LeRoy, and two sisters - Andrea Salazar and Virginia Romero.
David''s family wishes to thank IHC Hospice for their loving care during his illness, especially Megan, Nicole, Natalie, Doug and Eileen.
David was a member of St. Joseph''s Catholic Church where Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, June 18, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph''s, 514 a" 24th St, Ogden.
Friends may call at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Sunday, June 17, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. where Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.
Interment will be in the Ogden City Cemetery.
