Our Favorite Radio Personality (DJ) David B. Smith

PRICE, Utah a€" David Burton Smith, a.k.a. "The Green Eyed Monster" and "Captain Morgan", passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 26, 2008 from congestive heart failure.

David was born February 1, 1947 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Bill M. and Maxine Turner Smith. He was a member of the LDS Church.

He married the love of his life, Becky Bowersox, on July 3, 1964.

David''s passion was radio starting in the early 60''s at KVOG and he worked at almost every radio station in Ogden, Salt Lake City and the intermountain west. He was last working in Price, Utah at KASL. He also owned radio stations in Evanston, Wyoming and received many awards for his work in radio.

David loved his family and friends and lived to see others laugh.

Surviving are his wife Becky, sons Bill and David, daughter Jennifer Johnson, eight grandchildren Jeremy, David, Ashli, Fallen, Jacob, Russell, Ian and Daniel, his mother Maxine and sister Fawn.

He was preceded in death by his father Bill and sister Starr.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 1 at 1 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

Friends may call at the mortuary on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
