David Alma Stewart

David Alma Stewart, 88, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 21, 2009. He was born September 6, 1921 in the family home in West Kaysville to Alma Muffin and Camilla Barnes Stewart.

On February 18, 1942, Dave married Ronella Lalliss in the Logan LDS Temple. Dave served an LDS mission in the Northern California area.

As an only child, Dave was a three-generation pioneer in West Kaysville where he owned and operated a family dairy farm. While in Utah, Dave was instrumental in getting a pressurized water system in the Haight Creek Irrigation Company to Kaysville and Fruit Heights. He was also the President of the Irrigation Company for eight years, a Director in the Cache Valley Dairy Co., President of the Davis Co-op System, and Director for Farm Credit Services. In 1977, Dave realized his lifelong dream of owning a cattle ranch when he purchased a ranch in Glen, Montana. In Montana Dave was a Director in the Farm Credit, President of the Snowline Grazing Association and a Director of 3-River Telephone Cooperative.

Dave is survived by his widow, three sons: Fred (Wilma), Lyle, and Rob (Ronda); all of Glen, Montana and a daughter, Pauline (Tom) Brough of Layton, UT; 17 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Jack (Peggy) and a daughter, Judy (Rick) Mayfield.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 28, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main Street with Bishop David George officiating. Friends and family may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.

Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
