David S. Stone, Sr.

October 26, 1953 ~ December 30, 2016

David S. Stone, Sr., 63, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2016.  He was born to Burke Sr. and Merlyn Clark Stone on October 26, 1953 in Long Beach, CA.  David grew up in Pleasant View and graduated from Weber High School.  He later moved to Redding, CA before settling in Ogden, UT.

He married Elizabeth McBurnie on September 3, 1982 in Ogden, Utah.

David had worked as a quality assurance inspector at Thiokol and Williams International and was later forced into medical retirement.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  David loved the church with every ounce of his being.  He had a strong testimony and loved our Heavenly Father.

David enjoyed watching football; fan of the Green Bay Packers since 1971.  He also enjoyed going to the movies and playing pinball.  His greatest joy was his family and he loved them and looked forward to spending time with them.

David is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Elizabeth; sons, David Jr. (Chelsea) Stone and Scott (Tiffany) Stone; daughter Cassaundra Stone; 12 grandchildren; in which he was especially close with Isabella and David III, they made his heart full of love and joy and made each day eternal for him; stepmom, Alicia Stone; brothers, Lee, Burke Jr, Roarke (Kelly), and Kip Stone; and sisters, Carol Stone, Sherry (Frank) Miller, and Alicia Ann Stone.  He was preceded in death by his son, Justin; daughter, Holly; mother and father; and his brother, Alfred.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 11 a.m. the Westwood Village Ward, 2123 North 2000 West, Farr West.  Friends may visit with family on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd. and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.  Interment, Honeyville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations accepted at David Stone Memorial Fund at Wasatch Peaks Credit Union.
