David Jerome Teel
February 27, 1957 ~ May 4, 2021
ROY - David Jerome Teel, 64, known as “Dave” to some and “Jerry” to others, passed peacefully into his heavenly home late on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah surrounded by his loving sons.
David was a retired veteran who served his country with distinction and touched many lives with his charitable spirit, his generous heart, his infectious laugh, and his incredibly dry sense of humor. Despite losses in his life, he always found a way to be positive and cheerful.
David was born on February 27, 1957 in St. Louis, MO to Delbert Lewis Teel, Sr. and Mary Lou (Dunn) Teel. David was the sixth child born of seven children. He grew up as a young boy in a Christ-filled and loving home in Ballwin, Missouri near the Barn at Lucerne.
David’s commitment to serve his country was a lifelong commitment which spanned over 40 years. Many of those years were spent using his keen mechanical abilities to keep B-52s in the air. He retired honorably from the United States Air Force having served with distinction on multiple overseas tours in support of military operations and continued to serve in the Civil Service at Hill AFB. He brought this level of dedication to those in his life.
David is survived by his three sons whom he always bragged about without them knowing, Brandon (Leasha) Teel of Eureka, Missouri; Christopher (Anna) Teel of Tucson, Arizona; and David Lee Teel of Roy, Utah; and his five grandchildren, Landen, Brynnen, William, Charles, and Graeme. He is also survived by his two sisters, Lana Clary of Lenoir, North Carolina and Lewisa Andringa of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin; his brothers, Dennis Teel (Diane) of Indian Trail, North Carolina and Douglas Teel (Judy) of Florissant, Missouri; and a sister-in-law, Jan Teel-Nealis, Matthews, North Carolina. He also leaves to mourn his passing many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Mary Lou Teel; his wife, Dianna Lee Purfeerst Teel; his firstborn son, Jason Teel; his son, Terry Teel; his brother, Delbert Jr.; his brother, Victor; and his nephew, Douglas.
David requested a small and simple service thus a graveside service is planned on Friday, May 7, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
