David Charles Thierry

May 16, 1967 ~ February 11, 2021

David Charles Thierry, 53, passed away unexpectedly in his home on February 11, 2021 in Ogden, UT. He was born on May 16, 1967 in Lakewood, CA to Roy D. Thierry and Kathleen Hansen Thierry. He and Kathleen were later blessed to join families with Wayne B. Hansen and his five children, who loved and cared for David as their own.

David married Kelly Endo in 1986 and had three children together. His only son, Cody James Thierry, was their first born. Followed by their first daughter, Jorden Ashley Thierry, who grew to have David’s first two endlessly adored grandchildren, Eislee and Kohen Donohoo. And finally, they had their last daughter, Samantha Thierry, their free-spirited airman. After five years of marriage, David and Kelly divorced.

Then in August 1994, David met the true love of his life, Lanette Marie Thierry. They were married in Ogden, UT on November 29, 1994. The two of them loved and cared for each other and his children and in 1998 the welcomed a beautiful daughter of their own, Bailey Marie Thierry. She later married her sweetheart, Cameron Day, whom David loved and welcomed to the family. A few years after Bailey’s birth, they welcomed their second daughter and David’s last child, Shelby Kathleen Thierry- his little adventure buddy.

If you had the opportunity to spend time with David, you’d find him with his extra-large fountain drink, a baseball cap, and a few hours worth of stories to share. He loved to talk to people and share his life and knowledge of things with anyone who would be interested in hearing it. He had the ability to make each individual person who entered his life feel as if they were special to him. David had a kind heart and a giving spirit. His greatest joy was when he could help someone else. When David was at home with his family, he loved to read, watch old movies, and make up silly songs about anything and everything just to make his family laugh. He had an intense passion for the outdoors and wildlife that he loved to share with his children. Whether it be hunting, fishing, camping or exploring, he was most happy when he was doing those things–especially with his family and close friends. He loved working on vehicles and attending car shows. He took pride in his ability to fix just about anything and did so often for his family. David also had a deep love and respect for guns. He was an excellent marksman and could tell you just about anything you’d need to know about them. He was intelligent and always seeking to learn. David completed college courses in hopes of obtaining a degree in marine biology and had dreams of becoming a law enforcement officer.

It was evident that his greatest pride came from being a father and a grandfather. Spending time with them was his favorite pastime and he did his best to let each of them know how proud he was of their accomplishments. David was a loving husband, a compassionate friend, and most of all–he was his Mother’s keeper. David and Kathleen weathered many storms together, but their love was unwavering. David’s desire was always to make sure that his Mom was happy, healthy, and well taken care of. He truly loved and adored her.

David was survived by his wife, Lanette Thierry; his parents, Wayne and Kathleen Hansen; his children, Cody Thierry, Jorden Donohoo, Samantha Thierry, Bailey (Cameron) Day, and Shelby Thierry; his grandchildren, Eislee and Kohen Donohoo; and his siblings, Sheri (Mike) Douglas, Lori (Steve) Barnes, Mechele (Rod) Hester and Angela Hansen, aunts, uncle, and cousins and lastly his fur-kids Dottie, Poppy, Sassy, and Chance

He was preceded in death by his brother, Craig Hansen, and his grandparents.
