David Randolph Thompson, 66, passed away Friday, November 2, 1007 at McKay-Dee Hospital as a result of a head injury related to a fall at home.
He was born June 10, 1941 in Ogden, Utah the son of Joseph Smith and Rose Burchell Thompson.
David lived in the Ogden area for most of his life except for a couple of years in Indiana. He was deaf from birth and suffered during his life from various medical problems. He had many friends in the deaf community and belonged to the deaf branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved his family, brothers and sisters, children and grandchildren. He enjoyed just spending time with his family. He had a special love for children and enjoyed being around them. He believed in God and had a faith in the knowledge that life is everlasting and that this life is temporary. He longed to see his father again and knew someday there would be a resurrection. He believed in Christ.
David was preceded in death by his daughter, Marie Thompson and his father, Joseph Smith Thompson. He was married four times but was single at the time of his death. He had seven children, six of which survive him, Mark Thompson, Ogden; Karen (Frank) Bishop, Fresno, CA; Donald Thompson, PA; Rochele (Craig) Anderson, Roy; Eric Thompson, Maine; Lynda Thompson, Orem; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He is survived by his mother, Rose B. Thompson, three brothers, Joseph M. (Roswitha) Thompson, John B. Thompson and Stephen L. (Cindy) Thompson, two sisters, Kathy Coggins and Ellen (Greg) Compton.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, November 6th at 11 a.m. at the Ogden City Cemetery, 1875 Monroe Blvd.
