OGDEN – David Deon Nelson, 39, died Monday, August 31, 2009 in Ogden.
He was born December 22, 1969 in Ogden, a son of Stephen R. and Joann Hirschi Nelson. He grew up in Roy graduating from Roy High School in 1988.
David was the shop foreman for Sound Warehouse, a carpenter and built houses with Brian Barnett Construction and W.M.T. Construction. He worked security at Teazers for 12 years and was an AMT for Autoliv.
David loved hunting, fishing, four-wheeling and spending time with his family at Bear Lake and Loa. He loved to be the center of if all and liked to be in charge. He loved learning about history. His friends were a very important part of his life. You could find he and Jackson every Monday night midnight at Wally World. He loved his son Skyler and was learning to be a Grandpa. David couldn’t wait to marry Katie and start a family.
Surviving are his fiancé, Katie Oyler; son, Skyler Ray Nelson; parents, Joann Hirschi (Lex) Sorensen; Stephen R. (Jan) Nelson; brothers, Brad Nelson, Jesse Sorensen; sisters, Melissa Nelson (Brian) Frederickson, and Jackie Sorensen; one grandson, Layne Ray Nelson; his grandmother, Lorna Hirschi and his nieces and nephews, Charlize “Sweetheart”, Stran, Harly, Xander, Kaitlin, Maddy and Josh.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, David R. Hirschi, and Dr. L.D. and Vi Nelson.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
