David B. Wagstaff
OGDEN – David Branson Brinton Wagstaff, 90, died Tuesday, April 14, 2009 in Ogden, 11 days short of his 91st birthday.
He was born April 25, 1918 in Mt. Pleasant, Utah, a son of William George and Lucetta Huffaker Brinton Wagstaff, the seventh of eight children.
On December 19, 1945, Dave married Ruth Erickson in the Manti LDS Temple. They were married for 63 years and lived in Ogden for the past 55 years.
Dad was raised in Mt. Pleasant on the family farm. He graduated from Utah State University in 1941 with a degree in Dairy Science.
During World War II, Dad worked at Pearl Harbor. After that he helped run the family farm and later worked for Cottonwood Dairy and Cream O’ Weber Dairy for over 40 years. He also helped many people in the Ogden area as a handyman.
Dad was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in the Bishopric for eight years in the Ogden 41st Ward. He also served in various other callings.
Work was Dad’s hobby, passion and reason for getting up in the morning. He was actively working until three weeks ago. He loved to know how things worked. He enjoyed gardening, roses, serving others, fishing, tinkering in his garage and learning. Dad knew how to recycle. He was green before it was popular. A master organizer he was able to use every inch when packing. He was also a member of the Sons of the Utah Pioneers.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth, of Ogden; one daughter and one son, Sandra Lee (Joseph) Adams, Centerville; David Boyd (Kimerly) Wagstaff, Salt Lake City; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, four brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Waterfall Canyon Ward, 1425 Kingston (35th and Polk Ave).
Friends may call at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday at the Ward Chapel from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 So. Highland Dr., Salt Lake City.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Perpetual Education Fund of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
