Davis Duane Stanger 1950-2010
Davis Duane Stanger, our brother, uncle and friend, was killed in a car/bicycle accident in Draper, Utah, Sunday evening November 14, 2010.
He was born September 6, 1950 in American Falls, Idaho to Edward Marion and Mary Ethel Adkins Stanger. He was the 14th of 15 children. He loved his family, and we loved him.
Davis graduated from American Falls High School in 1968 and in 1975 he received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Idaho State University in political science. At the time he completed a course of study at the LDS Institute of Religion. He was awarded a scholarship to attend law school at the University of Idaho, and completed one semester. He also did some continuing education in gerontology at the Community College of Denver. He then received an associate degree in data processing at Salt Lake Community College.
Much of his professional career centered around the computer and information technology industry. At the time of his death, he was a highly respected employee of ACD Direct and O''Currance Telemarketing in Draper.
From 1969-1971, Davis served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He attended Murray 1st Ward in Murray, Utah, where he resided.
Davis was a person that was happiest when he was serving others. His favorite pastime was ball room dancing and he extended his circle of friends through participating in numerous dance organizations. He made many life-long friends through these associations. He loved animals and was devoted to his cat, Little Kira-Kat, which he rescued as a new kitten, and his dog, Rascal, another rescued animal.
