Dax Lee Shelton
July 6, 1998 ~ April 4, 2022
On Monday, April 4, 2022, Dax Lee Shelton, son of Danny and Robyn Shelton, passed away at the age of 23 of stage 4 glioblastoma.
Dax was born on July 6, 1998 in Ogden, Utah and raised in Roy. His parents brought him home to a very excited brother and sister. His childhood was filled with making memories through recreational sports, cousins, neighbors and countless lifelong friends.
He graduated from Roy High School in May 2016. He loved his job of being a brick mason, working alongside his uncle and took great pride in his work.
He was the love of many lives, but the love of his life was Rachel Gates. They spent the last three years experiencing love and all that life has to offer including the adoption of their fur baby, Allen, together. He enjoyed spending time with Rachel and Allen, his family, watching sports, Legos, making us laugh until we cried at Sunday dinners and Star Wars.
He exceeded in his role as uncle, brother, son and friend.
When Dax came into a room all were guaranteed a belly-laugh, aching cheeks and and fuller heart.
To know Dax was to love Dax.
To love Dax and to be loved by Dax was to feel the suns warmth on all sides.
His life’s essence is one of love, playfulness and deep sentiment.
Although his life was short, not a day went by that his love for life and others didn’t grow.
He is preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Gayle and Gene Tew, Bert Rose and Dan Shelton. He is survived by his parents, brother, Jake (Shay) Shelton, and sister, Taylor (Chauncey) Griffin, his loving girlfriend, Rachel, his nephews Kai and Phineas, and his nieces Grace and Josie. There will be an undeniable absence felt in our family by his passing that will remain until we find ourselves reunited again in Heaven.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 11, 2022 at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. The family will meet with friends Sunday, April 10, 2022 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery.
