Dean Stuart Darby

Dean Stuart Darby, 85, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2014. He was born in Salt Lake City on February 13, 1928 to William Mullen and Nellie Littlefair Darby.
He graduated from West High School. He served in the Army Infantry during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany. He then graduated with a B. S. from the University of Utah.
Dean married Norma Ladean Rogerson on February 6, 1953. They lived in Salt Lake until 1957, Ogden until 1972, and then Eden where they have resided for over 40 years. Dean and Norma celebrated 60 years of marriage last February.
He worked for Hill Air Force Base as an engineer for 29 years.
Dean was a member of The American Legion. He enjoyed hunting upland bird and waterfowl, fishing, and camping. He was a wonderful mechanic, machinist and carpenter.
Dean is survived by his loving wife, Norma Darby, Eden; sons, Del S. Darby, Hyrum; and Neal W. Darby, Barstow, CA; five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Nellie Darby; two brothers, Owen William Darby and Wayne Patrick Darby; and one sister, Mary Helen Johnson.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, January 24, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Mountain View Cemetery, 5555 East 2700 North, Eden. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the Eden 2nd Ward, 2900 N. Hwy 162. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
