Our beloved  Dean Virgil Harris, loving father, grandfather, husband, and friend died on April 19, 2017 in Dallas, Texas.  April 19th would also have been the 45th anniversary of his marriage to the recently departed Marilyn Harris.

Dean was born in Ogden, Utah to Alma and Zella Harris on July 4, 1948. He was raised in Utah, along with his 6 siblings, living in Ogden and graduating from Ben Lomond High School in Ogden. Dean married Marilyn Salmond in 1972. They welcomed sons Curtis Dean in 1973, and Gregory Alma in 1976, brought a daughter, Natalie (Wolfe) into their family in 1978, and welcomed grandson Matthew Dean in 1988. 

Dean had a successful sales and management career in the appliance manufacturing and distribution industry.   He worked for several manufacturers of major appliances before joining the family's financial planning firm as a recruiter.   After retiring, he was very active in managing home improvement projects for anyone who would let him.    

Dean was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a member of the LDS Plano Ninth Ward.

Dean was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn, his parents, his son Gregory, and his brothers Wayne and Merrill. He is survived by son Curtis and his wife Rebecca, daughter Natalie and her husband Brian, grandson Matthew, siblings George, Janet, Christine, and Maxine.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 6545 W. Plano Parkway, Plano, Texas 75093. 

Interment will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 11 a.m. in Ogden City Cemetery, Ogden, Utah.
