Dean passed away on Feb 4, 2011 of colon cancer at his home surrounded by his family. Dean was born June 5, 1936 in Vallejo, California to Dairl and Jennie Hill. He was educated in Ogden, graduating from Ogden High School. He married Karen Gibbs on May 1, 1957 in the SLC LDS Temple and have been married for 53 years. He was a barber for 20 years before going into the restaurant business with his wife Karen. Dean and Karen started the Pioneer CafAC., and then later opened the Prairie Schooner Steakhouse. With his friend, Carl Jorgensen, they opened the Timbermine Steakhouse 25 years ago. Dean had many special employees, friends and customers that he loved. Dean enjoyed spending time at his cabin with his grand kids. He also enjoyed traveling to Mexico and Costa Rico where he loved to golf, fish and walk the beaches. Dean is survived by his loving wife Karen, daughters Kathy (Steve) Eastman-Medford Oregon, Linda (Roy) Tanner-Pleasant View Utah, Julie (Doug) Roylance-Pleasant View Utah, and son Mike (Deanna) Hill-North Ogden Utah and his sister Emajean Stephens. Dean was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Lois Sickles.

Dean has 12 grandchildren (Deanna, Jennie, Mike, Kelley, Drew, Amanda, Rebecca, Sydney, Whitney, Cooper, Payton, Abbie) and 2 great-grandchildren (Ryan, Noah).

We would like to thank Dr.Carl Gray, Stacie & Robert and the many wonderful people that have helped and thought of our mother at this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the LDS missionary fund or St Anne''s Shelter. We all have special memories with our dad. We love you. You will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 10th at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary 3408 Washington Blvd.

Family will meet friends on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
