Dean Robert Jeffs Col. Ret.
FRUIT HEIGHTS a" Dean Robert Jeffs, 96, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013.
He was born March 21, 1917 in Logan, Utah the son of Samuel and Rose Harriet Reeder Jeffs.
Dean married Marjorie Weaver Jeffs on June 25, 1940 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She preceded him in death on March 24, 1998.
Dean earned his Bachelor of Science degree at Utah State University and later earned a Masters degree in Chemistry.
He served for 27 years in the U.S. Army including WWII, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He worked as a school principal, school teacher and Justice Court Judge in Fruit Heights City.
He was an active member of the LDS Church and served in many callings, District President, Branch President, Temple worker, Sunday School President and Music Director.
Dean was a member of the Sons of Utah Pioneers and a descendant of the Willie Handcart Company.
He was a singer and soloist. Dean loved birds, model trains, photography and traveling.
Surviving are his sons, Parley Hal (Claudia) Jeffs, Bear River City; Joseph Steven (Lois) Jeffs, Huntsville; Bruce Weaver (Marian) Jeffs, Kaysville, daughter MarDiene Jeffs, Bountiful; 16 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren and brother, Donald R. Jeffs.
Preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie W. Jeffs, son, Robert Dean Jeffs, parents, two sisters and four brothers.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 20, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Fruit Heights 3rd Ward, 170 No. Mountain Road. Friends may visit family Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 No. Main and Monday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the church. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
The Family would like to thank home care aid, Kenna McCormick, along with Legacy Hospice and Pheasant View Assisted Living for the kind and compassionate care given to Dad.
