Dean Everett Orstrom was born to Everett and Evelyn Orstrom on March 24, 1945, in Moroni, Utah. His early years were spent in Kanesville and then Roy. He graduated from Weber High School in 1963.
Dean met the love of his life in 1965, when he stopped to offer Bev Tubbs a ride to school. On August 19, 1966, Dean and Bev were married and began their life together. For the next 59 years they called Roy their home when they established a loving family and a legacy of service. Dean provided for his family by working for Pillsbury/Cargill Flour Mill for over 37 years.
Dean’s passions in life were Bev, his family, boating, fishing, photography, ATV riding, and woodworking. He was also known to be a prankster and lover of movies and music.
Dean’s legacy is cemented in the lives of his family and friends. Grandpa Dude has made a lasting impact on the lives of his children and grandchildren.
Dean is survived by his loving wife, Beverly Orstrom; his four children, Heidi, Holly, Jeff, and Heather; his 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; his sister, Carma Dickenson; and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Keith.
In typical Dean fashion his last words included thoughts of love for his family, an admonition to love and care for each other, and the promise that he will haunt his family from the other side. He will be missed but never forgotten.
