Deanna Raye (Millen) Carlini

Deanna Raye (Millen) Carlini, of Layton, Utah, passed on from mortality on July 5th. She had been recovering from heart bypass surgery.

Deanna was born August 13th, 1937 in the Chicago Lying-in hospital. She graduated from Main Township High School and moved to California where she met and married Angelo Leo Carlini on May 14th, 1960. They were blessed with three children.

Deanna was an active member of the Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities. She especially loved the primary children and also befriended and cared for the widows. She served in RS, YW and taught seminary. She loved doing genealogical research and became involved in it soon after her conversion to the restored gospel while still a young mother. She also served a Spanish-speaking mission to Corpus Christi, TX with her husband, Angelo.

Deanna is survived by her husband, Angelo; her two sons, Adam and Aaron; ten grandchildren, Michelle, Chelsea, Lindsey, Cristel, Allyssa, Bradley, Jessica, Conner, Julianna and Christina; three great grandchildren, Krew, Ryan and Julia-Rose; one sister, Robin and other family and friends.

Deanna was preceded in death by her daughter, Julia, and by her mother, father, brother, Dennis, and sister, Margie.

Deanna will be best remembered for her selfless service, thoughtfulness and boundless love. She was creative and talented, playing the piano and cello. She loved to cook, sew, paint and sculpt and had a wonderful sense of humor. Never taking herself too seriously, she was always more concerned with the feelings and needs of others. We will miss you tremendously and look forward to a sweet reunion in the Celestial Kingdom.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 12, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
