Deanna Young Harmon was called home on July 20, 2011. She fought a valiant fight against ovarian cancer for 3-1/2 years. She was surrounded by her family.
Deanna was born March 21, 1947 to Arthur B. and Ardeth Giles Young. She was the oldest of six children. Deanna graduated from Wasatch High School. She loved the Heber Valley. She married John Grover Harmon on December 17, 1966. Their marriage was solemnized in the Ogden Temple December 15, 1979.
Deanna was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Deanna knew without a doubt that the gospel is true and that she is a daughter of God. Deanna served in many callings. She especially loved serving in the Relief Society.
Deanna was an avid reader. She enjoyed the challenge of crossword puzzles. She also loved watching the birds out her window.
She is survived by her husband John; three daughters: Kimberly Harmon, Layton, UT; Bethany (Geoffrey) Bovey, Sandy, UT; Katherine Harmon, Layton, UT; two grandchildren; her brother Arthur Kent (Connie) Young, Provo, UT; and sisters Laurel (Brent) Roylance, Hyrum, UT; Jane (Richard) Spillman, Hyrum, UT; Valerie Young, Heber City, UT; and Sharon (Jim) Brisk, Cedar Hills, UT.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, John Christian Harmon.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 23, 2011 at 10 a.m. at the Layton VaeView Ward, 1715 W. 1600 N. Friends may visit family on Friday, June 22 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Road.
Interment, Heber City, Utah.
