DeAnne Wilson Parson

September 9, 1934 — March 21, 2025

Our beautiful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, DeAnne Wilson Parson, passed away in North Ogden, Utah, on March 21, 2025, at the age of 90. In her final hours, she was surrounded by her children, their spouses, and many of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. As a final testament to her life-long love affair with her husband, Jack, she passed away exactly five years to the day of his passing.

DeAnne was born on September 9, 1934, in Logan, Utah, to Floyd Frederick and Afton Evans Wilson. DeAnne was the only daughter in a family of four children and grew up in Logan surrounded by family, cousins, and a wide circle of friends. She loved to be outside where she could play, ice skate, and ski. DeAnne’s lifelong passion for music began when she started piano lessons as a young child. She is a graduate of Logan High School and attended Utah State University where she was affiliated with Alpha Chi Omega Sorority.

In high school, DeAnne met the love of her life, Jack B. Parson, Jr. She fondly recalled being “pinned” to Jack during college. Following a romantic Christmas Eve engagement, Jack and DeAnne were married and sealed in the Logan Temple on June 2, 1954. They lived in Logan, Brigham City, and Pleasant View and have been blessed with a large posterity. She loved babies and with great joy welcomed each child, grandchild, and great-grandchild into the family. They now treasure happy memories of family parties, delicious meals, holidays, Henry’s Lake cabin trips, Palm Desert escapes, and Sun Valley reunions (a tradition spanning nearly fifty years).

DeAnne was the consummate homemaker and relished making her home, yard, patio, and garden a welcoming gathering spot for family and friends. Together, she and Jack preserved their fruit and vegetable harvest sharing freely with others. She was not content unless her hands were busy, and she loved handwork; knitting sweaters for her children when they were small and sewing clothing for herself and her children. Later in life she developed a passion for quilting which she was blessed to pursue until her passing. Her quilts, table-toppers, and wall-hangings now number in the hundreds and are treasured keepsakes.

DeAnne was a stalwart supporter of her husband’s career as he led his family’s construction company, Jack B. Parson Companies.

She was a class-act inside and out. DeAnne was kind, considerate, and gracious in all she did. She had a flair for fashion and always donned a fresh manicure accentuating her sparkling personality.

DeAnne was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in callings that blessed the lives of many including: Primary Pianist, Ward Relief Society President, Stake Relief Society President, and Ward Organist, a calling she loved and often said was “the best in the Church” having invited the Spirit into meetings for decades with her beautiful music. DeAnne and Jack served as missionaries at the Salt Lake Conference Center where they loved meeting visitors from around the world.

DeAnne’s family brought her great joy and happiness. She is survived by her four children and their spouses, Becky and Ryan Trimble, John and Dottie Parson, Susan and Gary Allen, and Scott and Allison Parson; 16 grandchildren; and 38 1/2 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her younger brother, Steve Wilson. She was preceded in death by her husband; a grandson, Michael Kropf; great-grandsons, Hayden Hadley and Cohen Christoffersen; her parents; and brothers, Clair Wilson and Robert Wilson.

The family appreciates the many caregivers whom DeAnne grew to love including Leslee Laird, the caregivers at The Lodge at North Ogden, and Aegis Homecare and Hospice.

We are grateful for our understanding that Jesus Christ makes it possible for families to be eternally reunited through our Heavenly Father’s plan of happiness.
