Debbie Riley DeBoer

August 31, 1954 ~ August 29, 2018

Debbie Riley DeBoer beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt passed away Wednesday August 29, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving husband and children. Debbie fought a courageous battle against cancer for over five years. Through it all her love and care for her family remained her focus, and in so many ways, she was able to show that love to all of us. Debbie’s family, and her role as mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was the most important thing to her. This is where Debbie drew her strength and left her legacy. Being with her family was what Debbie enjoyed most of all. What a wonderful lesson she gave us, to keep which is most important in focus and to love and care for your family. Debbie grew up in South Ogden graduating from Bonneville High School in 1972. On May 27, 1976 Debbie married the love of her life Craig DeBoer in Ogden, Utah.

Mom enjoyed throwing parties and creating many different holiday traditions for our family. Christmas time and Christmas Eve parties at moms were always our favorite time of year. We will cherish those memories and carry on mom’s traditions with her grandkids and great-grandkids. Mom was the most giving person we know, always thinking of others. One of her favorite things to do was walk through the grocery store and hand out Christmas cards with money inside to give to random people in the store, she also enjoyed going into department stores to pay off other families layaway balances. Mom was always concerned about everyone else, always putting her needs behind others. She would do anything for anyone without asking for anything in return. Mom always went above and beyond to make sure us kids had the best life possible and was there every step of the way to guide and encourage us.

Mom was one of the strongest women we know. We admire mom for all the hardships she had to overcome. Mom always displayed incredible resilience while maintaining her dignity, grace, generous and kind spirit.

Surviving are her husband, Craig of South Ogden; children, Holli, Michael, Heather (Andre Dyson), Haley (Clint Urry), and Matthew (Alicia DeBoer);17 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Faye Riley; her sisters, baby Riley and Lynette Barney.
