Deborah Ann Goodwin passed away suddenly on October 17, 2013 of a coronary embolism at her home in Kirkland, Washington. Deborah was born on March 2, 1954 in East St. Louis, Illinois to Bernard Louis Goodwin and Janet Turton Goodwin, the third of four children. The family moved to Roy, Utah in 1960 and Deborah graduated from Roy High in 1972.
Drawn to the ocean and greener landscapes, Deborah moved to the Seattle area in 1974 and made it her permanent home. Deborah was artistic and worked primarily in graphics, printing, sales, and web design for companies such as Labels West, The Seattle Post-Intelligencer, Microsoft, and most recently for the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges. She attended Cascadia Community College from 2008 to 2011.
An accomplished rider, she loved horses and competed in pole bending and barrel racing in high school and was a State Champion in 1970. She was a member of the Roy Junior Posse. She loved to travel, especially to Hawaii and Mexico. She loved dogs, golf, and photography. However, most of all she loved being with her many close friends. She was active in her local community and worked on city beatification projects.
She is survived by her father Bernard; two brothers, Michael Goodwin, North Ogden; Andrew Goodwin, Roy; and her sister, Linda Bingham, Riverdale. Deborah is also survived by two nieces, three nephews, three great nephews and a great niece.
Deborah was preceded in death by her mother who passed away April 23 of this year.
A viewing will be held Thursday, October 24, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, October 25, 2013 at 11 a.m. followed by interment at Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
