Dee Edgar Hancock
Our loving Father, Grandfather, Great-grandfather and Friend, Dee Edgar Hancock, 95, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 11, 2013. He was born on September 9, 1917 to Reuben Edgar and Manila Favorite Taylor Hancock in West Weber, Utah.
Dee married Pauline Frew on October 4, 1938 in Salt Lake LDS Temple. They had two children together. They were later divorced.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Dee learned the value of hard work growing up on the family farm. He passed this value on to his children. He worked as a farmer, cattle buyer, construction worker and retired from UDOT.
He loved to go fishing and hunting. He enjoyed traveling with his family. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.
Dee is survived by his son, Kenneth (Debbie) Hancock; daughter, Shirlee (Lincoln) Nelson; 4 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, brothers, Don (Delpha) Beck and Clyde Hancock; sisters, Flora Caldwell, Elaine Brown, Donna Stoker and Helen (LeOrnal) Jensen.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Keith.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, March 15, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the West Weber Cemetery. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. at Lindquist''s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Emeritus Estates and Hospice for Utah for the loving kindness shown to Dad.
