Dee Jay Lake

Dee Jay Lake, loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather, peacefully passed away on July 13, 2024.

 Dee was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Jay C Lake and Elma Cox Lake on January 26, 1942. He attended Davis High School and shortly after school he joined the Army, while stationed in Kansas City Missouri, he met the love of his life, Susan G Holt. After turning down a few proposals of marriage Susan finally decided to put him out of his misery and said yes. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on June 13, 1964 and this was the start of their wonderful journey together.

 Dee was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served in various calling through the years. He loved motorcycle riding, camping, fishing and hunting. In his later years he found a passion for woodworking and collecting antiques.

 Dee took great pride in being a husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his beautiful wife Susan, three children, Tonya McDonald, (Travis), Michael Dee Lake, (Donna), and Jennifer S. Miller, (Shane), 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

 He was proceeded in death by his father Jay C Lake, mother, Elma Cox Lake, sister Gaylene Goede, and brother, Jack R Lake.

 The family invites all who loved Dee to join them in a celebration of his life on Thursday July 18, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 Fairfield Road, Layton Utah. Family and friends may visit Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the mortuary.

 The interment will be held on Tuesday July 23, 2024, also at the Lindquist's Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah.

 Dee’s life is a testament to the power of love, resilience and faith and his memory will continue to live on through his family and friends.

 The family would like to express their deep gratitude for the loving and compassionate care given to Dee from the Inspiration Hospice team and the assisted living staff of Fairfield Village.
